Our Mission
Perched 740 meters high, south of the Mount of Olives, in the Ras Al-Amud neighborhood and facing the walls of the old city, the House of Abraham welcomes pilgrims and travelers of all convictions who wish to discover the Holy Land, while recharging their batteries in a peaceful and green setting.
A House for ALL
The House of Abraham can accommodate up to one hundred pilgrims or visitors, individually or in groups, in the 30 rooms of the main house and the 20 chalets of the park. Special rates are applied to people with limited financial means. The full rate for those who can afford it and donations contribute to this solidarity. In addition to accommodation, the house also hosts seminars, training sessions and daytime retreats, thanks to its indoor and outdoor meeting spaces. All visitors are welcome at the House of Abraham, whatever their religion or spiritual conviction. This openness allows for interreligious and intercultural encounters, in a spirit of benevolence and brotherhood!
Supporting the arrival of groups with a strong social or intercultural goal is one of the missions of the House of Abraham. Thus, it is the place to welcome pilgrimages of groups of Christians who share in the Church a journey of faith with people in precarious situations, intercultural or interreligious groups, solidarity and cooperation networks…
A House of solidarity
A house with local roots
At the local level, in the neighborhood, the House of Abraham supports the organization of meetings, trainings, cultural and solidarity events that contribute to the discovery of local resources and the social, economic, cultural and spiritual development of neighboring communities and associations. At the country level, the projects and partners of Secours Catholique-Caritas France in Israel and Palestine are promoted and supported by the House of Abraham with a view to encouraging encounters between visitors and local actors who work for peace, justice and solidarity in the territory.
